Frequently asked questions

Will Skrib train AI on my writing?

No. Your writing is yours. Skrib does not use your work to train AI models.

What is Companion?

Companion is the writing partner inside Skrib. It knows your draft, your Plan, and your Library. It suggests. You decide.

Can I use Skrib without any AI?

Yes. Choose “I write without AI” at sign-up, or the Purist plan. Same studio, no Companion anywhere in it.

What is Audit?

Audit is the trust layer. Process-based proof that a piece was written by a human. Audit ships after public launch.

Where do my files live?

On the Skrib cloud. The cloud icon at the bottom right confirms each save. Export at any time to your own computer.

Can I import my existing manuscript?

Yes. Word, LibreOffice, PDF, plain text, Markdown, Final Draft, and Fountain. Import it as a Draft, not into the Library.

Can I export my work?

Yes. Manuscripts export to PDF, Word, Text, and Markdown; screenplays to Final Draft, Fountain, and PDF. Export works even on a view-only account.

Is there a Save button?

No, and you will not miss it. Skrib saves continuously; the cloud icon confirms it.

Does Skrib work on mobile?

Skrib runs in any modern browser and comes alive on a laptop. A native mobile experience is on the roadmap.

Is there a dark mode?

Yes. Settings, Account, Theme: System, Light, or Dark.

Can two people write together in real time?

Not yet. Skrib is single-author today; co-writing is planned.

What does Skrib cost?

A free trial, a Purist plan, and three Companion plans (Basic, Pro, Max), monthly or annual. Current prices are on the View plans page in your account menu.

What happens when my trial ends?

The account stays free but goes view-only: read and export everything, write nothing, until you pick a plan. Nothing is deleted.

Where do I report a bug?

The question mark at the bottom right, or bugs@skrib.com.

Where do I ask for a feature?

feedback@skrib.com.
